A man in a business suit walking through a crowd or busy street oblivious to the blight around him – briefcase flung back over one shoulder in a pose reminiscent of the Rider-Waite tarot Fool’s knapsack.
I’m not sure whether or not I meant to make The Fool into the avatar of privilege when I first composed the description above, but that’s basically what he is.
Yes, The Fool can be struck by a car, same as anyone, but until it happens he will remain blithely unaware of the possibility. The world is The Fool’s oyster, and any hardship or hazard that does not confront him directly might as well not exist.
This perspective means The Fool tends to be more confident, but also more unintentionally callous than those around him.
As with more standard Tarot readings, The Fool also represents unlimited potential.
